Abstract

A process for making derivatized polymers of maleic anhydride containing maleamic acid and its corresponding cyclic imide repeat units, in alcohol solution, at a temperature of about 60-160.degree. C., during a reaction period of about 1-25 hours. The product is a polymer having a predetermined ratio of the above repeat units. The polymers are included in personal care poducts.
