Abstract

Muscle cells and nerves of the uterus and cervix are treated with electrical pulses having selective parameters in order to stimulate or inhibit contraction thereof. Either a needle or probe is provided having stimulation electrodes thereon from which the treatment pulses emanate. In a further embodiment, patients are simultaneously treated with pharmacological agents in conjunction with the electrical treatment.
