Abstract

An azoamide compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 through R.sup.4 are independently an alkyl group; X is an alkylene groupl Y is --O-- or --NH--; and n is an integer of 2 or more, is effective for producing a macroazo compound, which is a useful initiator for producing block copolymers.
