Abstract
The present invention is a filter for a display device having a substrate 1, an outermost layer inorganic film provided on the substrate 1 through or not through one or more other films and a surface modified film covering the surface of the outermost layer inorganic film and having a polar term component .gamma..sup.p of the surface energy of not more than 2.0 erg/cm.sup.2. The present invention provides a filter for a display device having an antireflection property superior in stain resistance, scratch resistance, processing resistance, etc. and suitable even when used as a front panel of a CRT or other display device.
