Abstract
Bismuth vanadate pigments of the formula (Bi.sub.4 V.sub.2 O.sub.11).sub.1-x.(BiVO.sub.4).sub.x, where 0.ltoreq.x<0.9, further comprising from 0 to 0.5% by weight of phosphorus in the form of bismuth phosphate, are characterized by a CIELAB hue angle of from 64 to 91.degree., a chroma of from 72 to 95 and a lightness.gtoreq.62 (measuring angle 45.degree., standard illuminant D65).
