Abstract
A cassette lid opening device for moving a lid of a cassette toward an open position, comprises a holder for holding the cassette inserted into the holder, an opening member arranged to come in contact with a lid of the cassette in association with a downward movement of the holder and to move the lid of the cassette to the open position, the opening member including a first contact part arranged to come in contact with a front end of the cassette inserted into the holder and a second contact part arranged to come in contact with a lower end of the lid of the cassette during the downward movement of the holder, and an urging member for urging the opening member in a direction opposite to a direction in which the cassette is inserted.
