Abstract
This invention provides a method of augmenting the therapeutic activity of an oxyalkylene-containing compound, butyric acid, a butyric acid salt or butyric acid derivative by administering an inhibitor of .beta.-oxidation of fatty acids to a patient or to host cells. Pharmaceutical compositions are also included.
