Abstract

A laminated multilayer film substrate for use in the production of banknotes having an oriented polypropylene layer and at least one high density polyethylene layer on each side of the oriented polypropylene layer. The resultant films exhibit good embossability, dead-fold characteristics and other properties, making them highly suited for the production of bank notes and other security documents.
