Abstract

A rolling apparatus comprising rolling elements disposed between an outer member and an inner member, the rolling elements rolling along a first contact surface, which is the contact surface of the outer member with the rolling elements, and along a second contact surface, which is the contact surface of the inner member with the rolling elements, wherein a film composed of a nickel-tungsten alloy is formed on at least one of the rolling elements, the first contact surface and the second contact surface, and the film has a thickness of from 2 to 30 .mu.m and a tungsten atom weight ratio of at least 35% by weight. The rolling apparatus has a high corrosion resistance to a strong acid such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid and a strong alkali.
