Abstract
In a communications system, a headend is provided with redundancy circuitry for video receivers, decoders, and modulation circuitry. The devices in the headend are monitored for failure, and when they fail, the channel being processed by the failing device is rerouted through redundancy circuitry to avoid the interruption of service to subscribers.
