Abstract
A color photographic recording material having at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, the silver halide emulsion whereof is spectrally sensitized with a cyanine dye of the formula I, exhibits increased sensitivity, ##STR1## R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.6 to R.sup.9 are H, halogen, alkyl, methoxy, aryl, 1-pyrrolyl, 2-pyrrolyl, 3-pyrrolyl, 2-furanyl, 3-furanyl, 2-thienyl, 3-thienyl, 1-indolyl, 2-isoindolyl or N-carbazolyl; or R.sup.7 together with R.sup.6 or R.sup.8 denote the group required to complete an optionally substituted fused benzene ring or napthylene ring system;
