Abstract

Novel detergent hair compositions (shampoos) which are more particularly suitable for so-called sensitized hair, the compositions comprising a cosmetically acceptable medium containing at least one anionic surface-active agent, at least one imidazoline amphoteric surface-active agent, at least one conditioning agent, and at least 1% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition of at least one carboxylic acid having a hydroxyl radical in the .alpha.-position (alpha-hydroxy acid) or a derivative thereof. The compositions make it possible to obtain hair which, after washing, has enhanced lightness, smoothness, shine and mechanical strength.
