Abstract
An ester compound is prepared with a greatly improved efficiency by reacting a liquid alcohol with a liquid organic acid at a temperature of about 30 to 70.degree. C. in the presence of a lipase without adding any solvent. In particular, short chain acids and alcohols are reacted with lipase from candida antarctica immobilized on an acrylic resin.
