Abstract
A relay optical system is disclosed that comprises, in axial order from the object side, first, second, third, and fourth lens groups having a negative, a positive, a positive, and a negative refractive power, respectively. An aperture stop is between the second and third lens groups. Relative to the aperture stop, the first lens group is symmetrical with the fourth lens group and the second lens group is substantially symmetrical with the third lens group.
