Abstract

A method for providing pain relief includes topically applying to skin tissue an effective amount of higher homologs of isoparaffins, ranging from about C.sub.12 to C.sub.18. Compositions of the present invention include, with the isoparaffins in a mixture, at least one from the group consisting of salicylate, capsaicin, camphor, and menthol. Other constituents may be added for form creams or lotions.
