Abstract
A clamshell or two-sided cooking system utilizes an upper platen and a lower platen. The periphery of the upper platen is marked on the lower platen by a laser-etched marking. The laser-etched marking provides a wear resistent marking which withstands the scraping and scrubbing operations associated with using and cleaning the clam cooking system. The laser-etched markings are preferably comprised of a plurality of slanted lines disposed 1/16 of a inch apart.
