Abstract
A solid phase system for use in ligand-receptor assays, particularly immunoassays using monoclonal antibodies, is disclosed. The solid phase system comprises a porous matrix in which microspheres, bound with a receptor capable of capturing a target ligand, are entrapped. Preferably, the microspheres are entrapped within a discrete zone or zones of the porous matrix.
