Abstract

A method and composition for treating liquefied petroleum gas containing acid gases such as H.sub.2 S, CO.sub.2, and COS to sweeten such liquefied petroleum gas by removal of a substantial portion of such acid gases while minimizing losses of amines due to solubility in LPG and enhancing CO.sub.2 slip, said method comprising contacting said liquefied petroleum gas with an absorbent mixture comprising an aqueous solution of TEA and at least another amine preferably selected from the group consisting of MEA, DEA, MDEA, DIPA, and mixtures thereof.
