Abstract
Dithiocarbamyl carboxylic acids, useful as multifunctional additives for lubricating oils, possess the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently is a hydrocarbyl group of from 1 to about 60 carbon atoms and R.sup.3 is a divalent alkylene group of from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms.
