Abstract
A method of encoding data and commands as N-bit words includes using a first portion of the word to identify whether the word carries data or a command. In the case of a command, the command is in a second portion of the word. In the case of data, a part of the data is contained in the second portion of the word, while the remaining part of the data is encoded in the first portion of the word.
