An ethylene oxychlorination catalyst in granular form, consisting of CuCl.sub.2 supported on an alumina carrier, displaying a cylindrical configuration with trilobed cross-section provided with three through-bores equidistant from each other, each of which through-bores has its axis parallel to the axis of the cylindrical granule.
