Abstract

The optometric apparatus desinged to reduce the number of switches for operating the apparatus and facilitate the switch operation of the apparatus, thereby allowing the examiner to conduct the examination efficiently. The optometric apparatus for performing optometry by selectively disposing in a test window a corrective optical system having various optical elements and by presenting a target of a target presenting device to an eye to be examined through the test window, the optometric apparatus comprising: driving circuit for electrically driving the corrective optical system; item designating switches for designating a correction item to be changed for changing a refraction characteristic of the test window; selecting switches for setting a plurality of steps to change the correction item and for selecting one of the plurality of the set change steps, the selecting switches being common to a plurality of correction items; and change designating switches for designating the change of the refraction characteristic of the correction optical system on the basis of the change step which is set on the basis of signals from the selecting switch and the item designating switch.
