Abstract
The present invention relates to thio-substituted, nitrogen-containing heterocyclic phosphonate compounds, including bisphosphonates, phosphonoalkylphosphinates, phosphonocarboxylates, and phosphonosulfonates, and the pharmaceutically-acceptable salts and esters thereof useful for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis and arthritis.
