Abstract

The invention provides a photographic element comprising a silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a yellow dye-forming coupler having the formula: ##STR1## wherein X, Y, Z, W are independently selected from the group consisting of H, alkyl, aryl, halogen, alkoxy and aryloxy groups, provided that X and W may join to form a saturated ring; Each A is selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkoxy and aryloxy groups; m is an integer from 1 to 3; each B is independently selected from the group consisting of --C(O)OR.sub.2 and --NHSO.sub.2 R.sub.3 wherein R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl and aryl groups; n is an integer from 1 to 3; and R.sub.1 is a substituent group.
