Abstract
A roll for a rolling mechanism includes a carrier and a roll jacket surrounding the latter which is rotatably journalled on the carrier by bearings arranged at a distance from another. Hydrostatic and/or hydrodynamic support elements are provided between the bearing by which the roll jacket is additionally supported on the carrier.
