Abstract
A method for calculating a play time of a disc reproducing apparatus is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: reading cluster and sector information of each music program recorded on a disc after compressed; calculating cluster and sector number information of each music program according to the cluster and sector information of each music program; calculating cluster and sector number information of all music programs recorded on the disc according to the cluster and sector information of each music program, calculating remaining cluster and sector number information of a music program being reproduced according to both relative cluster and sector number information measured from the beginning of a music program being reproduced and the cluster and sector number information of each music program, or calculating remaining cluster and sector number information of the disc according to the relative cluster and sector number information measured from the beginning of a music program being reproduced, the cluster and sector number information of all music programs recorded on the disc, and the cluster and sector number information of each music program; and converting the cluster and sector number information of each music program, the cluster and sector number information of all music programs, the cluster and sector number information of a music program, or the remaining cluster and sector number information of the disc into time information so as to output the time information.
