Abstract
A portable apparatus such as a portable computer comprises a box-shaped housing, a functional element contained within the housing, and a bracket for supporting the housing. The bracket has a coupling portion situated within the housing. The housing includes a wall for supporting the functional element and a peripheral wall formed to be continuous with a peripheral edge portion of the wall and to surround the functional element. The coupling portion of the bracket is fixed to the peripheral wall of the housing.
