Abstract

There are disclosed various substituted 4-amino-3-pyridinol compounds of the formula below, ##STR1## where R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are as defined in the specification, which are useful for alleviating various memory dysfunctions characterized by a cholinergic deficit such as Alzheimer's disease.
