Abstract

The present invention is an imaging element which includes a support, an image forming layer and a backing layer. The backing layer includes a film forming polymeric binder, hard filler particles in an amount of from 10 to 80 volume percent of the backing layer, and crosslinked elastomeric matte beads having a glass transition temperature of 10.degree. C. or less.
