Abstract

Disclosed is an electronically controlled camera in which a lens system moves along its optical axis. When the lens stops moving, a brake is applied. In order to prevent unnecessary braking which is applied after the lens stopped, the brake is applied wile the lens is moving, and the brake is released immediately when the lens has stopped its movement.
