Abstract

Methods of configuring and unconfiguring resources in and from a distributed computing environment are effected by identifying those configuration/unconfiguration tasks which must be carried out locally (that is, on the resource being configured/unconfigured) and then enforcing the cell administrator's preexisting restriction on root user access to the machine at least with respect to the identified local configuration/unconfiguration task.
