Abstract

The heat sensitive recording material of the present invention has, between a support and a heat sensitive recording layer, an intermediate layer having a tensile modulus of elasticity of from 1.times.10.sup.8 to 1.times.10.sup.10 dyne/cm.sup.2) as measured according to JIS K 7127. The heat sensitive recording material of the present invention is suitable to prevention of abrasion of a thermal head and prevention of sticking of the heat sensitive recording material to the thermal head.
