Abstract
A magnetic recording medium excellent in fungiresistance and having high safety, lubrication and durability is provided, with the magnetic properties not being affected. An anti-fungus agent is added to the recording medium. The added anti-fungus agent is a compound (I) in an amount of 0.005 to 5.0% by weight of the magnetic coating layer: ##STR1## where R stands for C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 straight or branched alkyl, cyclohexyl or, ##STR2## n is an integer of 1 or 2, and X stands for H, CH.sub.3, Cl, Br or I.
