Abstract

A method is provided for inhibiting oil and grease generation from human skin by applying to the skin a C.sub.11 -C.sub.30 alkyl or alkenyl ester of salicylic acid as an active component in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Most preferred is tridecyl salicylate.
