Abstract
A method for producing a hydrofluorocarbon of the formula H.sub.n R.sub.f H wherein n is 0 or 1, and when n is 0, R.sub.f is a C.sub.2-12 linear or branched polyfluoroalkyl group, and when n is 1, R.sub.f is a C.sub.2-12 linear or branched polyfluoroalkylene group, which comprises reacting an iodofluorocarbon of the formula I.sub.n R.sub.f I wherein n and R.sub.f are as defined above, with a reducing agent in a gas phase.
