Abstract

An antibacterial article inhibits the proliferation of microorganisms on the surface of food. The antibacterial article includes a substrate, such as a nonwoven material, on which is adsorbed .epsilon.-polylysine. The article is produced by applying an aqueous or alcoholic solution of .epsilon.-polylysine to the substrate by spraying or immersion.
