Abstract

A screen wiper, in particular for a motor vehicle windshield, comprises: an elongate wiper blade having a flexible wiping strip for contact with a curved swept surface, the wiping strip being mounted on the blade in such a way that it can deform in one plane so as to follow the curvature of the swept surface; and an elongate flexible deflector which is so configured as to form a mask that tends to divert air streams so that, when the vehicle is travelling at high speeds, an aerodynamic force is exerted on the blade which tends to urge the flexible wiping strip into contact with the swept surface. The deflector is able to deform on the wiper blade, and its deformation is controlled by the flexible wiping strip itself. The wiper includes, in at least two points along the length of the wiper blade, means for transmitting to the deflector the deformation of the wiping strip, so that this latter deformation is reproduced in the deflector. The blade has first guide means, and the deflector has second guide means. These guide means are arranged to cooperate with each other in sliding movement in at least two points along the length of the wiper blade, so as to guide the deformation of the deflector.
