Abstract
A digital-to-analog converter includes a D/A converter circuit section, connection switching control circuit and multi-input operational amplifier circuit. The D/A converter circuit section is supplied with a binary code of upper i bits of an n-bit (1.ltoreq.i<n) digital input, outputting a first voltage obtained by subjecting the i-bit binary code to the D/A conversion, and outputting a second voltage which is higher than the first voltage by an amount corresponding to the weight of the least significant bit of the i-bit input. The connection switching control circuit is supplied with the first and second voltages output from the D/A converter circuit section and a binary code of the remaining lower j (1.ltoreq.j<n, j=n-i) bits of the above binary code. The connection switching control circuit decodes the j-bit binary code, selectively outputs the second voltage from the D/A converter circuit section to part of 2.sup.j output nodes according to the result of decoding and selectively outputs the first voltage to the remaining part of the 2.sup.j output nodes.
