Abstract
There is provide an advantageous process for producing an .alpha.-(tert-alkyl)cyanoacetic acid ester characterized by reacting cyanoacetic acid ester with a di(lower alkyl)aluminum halide, and then reacting the resulting reaction with a tert-alkyl halide.
