An information processing apparatus apparatus comprising a first and second housings fold-up on each other, and provided with a means for protecting the recording head or carriage from shock due to the incidental falling or collision during storage or conveyance, thereby preventing rattles caused by vibration, and also preventing incorrectness of standby position or erroneous control of movement upon being reused.
