Abstract
The use of glycine anhydride dimethylol, also known as 1,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)-2,5-piperazinedione, comprising the formula ##STR1## to kill microorganisms present in or on a host substance and to preserve products susceptible to contamination by a variety of microorganisms is disclosed.
