Abstract
Pentafluorophenylmagnesium halides are prepared by a Grignard exchange reaction of hydrocarbylmagnesium halide with pentafluorochlorobenzene. The pentafluorophenylmagnesium halides are converted to pentafluorophenyl metal or metalloid derivatives by reacting them with metal or metalloid halides such as BF.sub.3.
