Abstract

A thermal transfer recording sheet comprising a base film, a thermally transferable ink layer formed on one side of the base film, a heat resistant lubricating layer formed on the other side of the base film, wherein the total concentration of alkali metal ions and alkaline earth metal ions contained in the heat resistant lubricating layer is within a range of at most 4 .mu.g/cm.sup.2.
