Abstract

A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, which comprises a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein said silver halide photographic material contains at least one compound represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; and R.sup.2 represents a branched alkyl group having 20 or more carbon atoms, a straight chain or branched alkenyl group having 17 or more carbon atoms, or a substituted alkyl or substituted alkenyl group substituted with at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of an alkoxycarbonyl group, an alkenoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, an acyl group, an alkoxyl group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, an alkylsulfonyl group, an arylsulfonyl group, an aryl group and a heterocyclic group, and having 12 or more carbon atoms in total.
