Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of crosslinked polymers and copolymers of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid of formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl. Said process, using ethyl formate as solvent, allows to obtain polymers having low residue of monomer and of solvent and with higher thickening capacity.
