Abstract
Methods for forming osseous tissue in defects in sites in the appendicular skeleton or sites exhibiting reduced metabolic state using bioactive glass granules containing 40 to 58% SiO.sub.2, 10 to 30% NaO, 10 to 30% CaO, and 0 to 10% P.sub.2 O.sub.5, and in the size range of from 200 to 300 micrometers, are described.
