Abstract

The invention relates to a water-in-oil emulsion containing retinol, an oil phase, an aqueous phase and an agent for emulsifying the aqueous phase in the oil phase, the oil phase containing at least one organic solvent for retinol which is liquid at room temperature, and the pH of the aqueous phase being basic, so as to stabilize the retinol for at least two months at 45.degree. C. This emulsion is for cosmetic or dermatological use.
