Abstract

A method for preparing an ethylene copolymer which comprises the step of copolymerizing ethylene with an aromatic vinyl compound in the presence of a catalyst comprising (A) a specific transition metal compound represented by the formula I ##STR1## and (B) a cocatalyst such as an aluminoxane.
