Abstract

A radiographic phosphor panel and radiographic phosphor composition. The radiographic phosphor panel includes a support and a luminescent layer. The luminescent layer overlies the support. The luminescent layer includes binder and coated particles. The binder is a film-forming polymer. The coated particles are embedded in the binder. The coated particles each have a core and a shell. The core is radiographic phosphor. The shell is exterior to and substantially encloses the core. The shell comprises vinyl-epoxy resin, having uncured epoxy groups in a concentration of from about 1.times.10.sup.-5 to about 60 percent by weight relative to the weight of the shell. The resin has a different composition than the binder.
