Abstract
In accordance with the present invention, a method is provided for treating reperfusion injury, ischemia and runaway inflammatory conditions with thalidomide alone or in combination with other drugs selected from the group consisting of nitrates, beta-adrenoceptor blocking agents, anti-platelet/thrombolytic drugs, drugs acting as the arachindonic acid cascade and calcium antagonists. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising thalidomide alone or in combination with other drugs are also provided.
